Thatâs right, we started a climate investing club, and youâre invited đ
Whatâs in our Slack club?
đ People: A community is only as good as its people, and weâre inviting some amazing people interested in investing + making a climate impact, including you! On a given day you might interact with:
A VP of marketing at a climate-tech startup
A house remodeler looking for green financing
A college student looking for a green savings account
A CPA thatâs curious about carbon credits
A CEO of a climate finance startup
đď¸ Events: The club will host various virtual events about climate investing in our Slack, including:
Q&As with climate founders to learn about their perspectives on climate investing
Meetups via Zoom or Gatheround to network and learn.
â Opportunities: The club is a forum for others to share:
Specific climate investing opportunities (both non-accredited and accredited)
Writing and news related to the intersection of climate and money
Climate investing jobs
External climate investing events
Why start a Slack?
Need: Weâre building the climate investing club that we want but havenât been able to find.
Energy: A good Slack community buzzes with serendipity.
Privacy: LinkedIn and Substack are great but Slack is much more private (comments delete after 90 days), which allows people to speak more freely.
Sense of place: Slack provides a true digital home base.
What about our Substack?
Our Substack newsletter isnât going anywhere â in fact, itâs about to get better! Weâll continue to share insights and newsworthy content written by our expert team here on Substack, as well as the newest ways to invest in climate.
HOWEVER, weâll now also recap some of the most informative conversations happening in the Slack community. For exampleâŚ
What people are currently talking about in the CICâŚ
Speaking of the Slack, itâs already taking off âď¸. One of our favorite members suggested considering Compensaid and Recoolit if offsetting flights is your kind of thing. We have more to say about offsetting but thatâs a topic for a future newsletter.
